Winery Review: The grapes for this Carménère are selected from vineyards in the Central Valley. Beautiful red fruit aromas. Supple and round in the mouth, the wine pairs well with full flavored cheeses and lamb.
My review: The color of the wine was very dark, almost black. The wine smelled smokey and gamey. The wine had a silky texture and did not have any tannic feel. There were no fingers when the wine was swirled. The lack of body for this wine was not appealing to me. The wine also have a bitter aftertaste.
I tasted this on its own with no food.
