Tasting - Faraway Farm

Name: Faraway Farm
Variety: Shiraz
Region:
Country: South Africa
Year: 2008
Price: $5.95

Winery Review:  Fresh, modern style, with lots of plum pudding,
sweet chocolate, mocha, blackberry and boysenberry flavors supported by round, sweet tannins and toast.

My review:  This a good wine but did not taste like a regular shiraz.  The wine did not have the black color like most shiraz's look like.  It was a lighter red that I could see through.  The smell was full of smoke, dirt and earth smells.  The taste was rich and full of fruit.  It was a dry wine but it still had a very smooth texture.  I would like to try this wine again and compare it with other Shiraz wines from different parts of the world.

I tasted this on its own with no food.
